facebook_1.jpg Hi Facebook Friends!

I'd like to thank you all for your birthday wishes this past weekend - it was very sweet. I was away visiting the Grunerts in Magdeberg, Gerhard and Christel don't have internet yet - but will be getting it installed on 12 Dec 2011! So when I returned to Berlin on Sunday evening - I had a slew of birthday messages from my Facebook Friends. Thanks again!

I'm going to try to say HI (with a reply) to everyone that sent me a message - but also wanted to compose a little letter with a bit more substance, a bit more umpa dumpa, a little more room to roam. I've been thinking about what to write and how to approach such a letter on my ride home from work. Just a warning - parents if your kids are reading this I'm going to use some bad language (just once) in the next paragraph.

facebook_9.jpg Since I've moved from Friedenau to Prenzlauer Berg by bike compute to work has gone from about 40 minutes to 7 minutes! The good news - Is I can sleep in and still get to work 'early' - the bad news is that I don't get the 80 minutes of biking each day. So tonight I decided it was time to take a ride after work. It's Mother Fuckin Cold out there tonight - that was nice, did you like that :-) I just went on the internet do see the temperature, it's only 35? But there's a lot of fog so there must be a lot of humidity! It was a nice ride. I was thinking about you!

This is the fourth paragraph - with introductions, objectives and foul language out of the way - you always talk about the ones you love of the fourth paragraph. I've been living alone since September, and I really miss Jennifer, Logan and Connor - the ones I Love. We skype on the weekends and sometimes during the week if I stay up very late. Jennifer and I chat while at work from time to time - and there is shortwave and medium wave. I'm looking forward to being back in Saint Paul with Jennifer and the boys! I Love you!

facebook_5.jpg There are Facebook Friends I'll also be seeing in Minnesota soon and others in Berlin, I'll be saying goodbye to. It'll be sad to say goodbye to Berlin. I'll miss old friends and new friends and I'll miss the trains! :-)

The ride tonight as I said was fucking cold! I rode from work down into the middle of the city, through the Tiergarten to the Zoological Garden and then back over to Potsdamer Platz and then home via Leipziger Straße. This was my ride to work in the old days. A ride that took me past much of the history of Berlin. Some highlights of tonights ride was the Embassy of Saudi Arabia, the gas lanterns in the Tiergarten and stopping at the Berlin Philharmonic.

After a ride like that - my Mom would always ask me if I was careful - and even now when we skype she tells me to be careful. I think about that each time I get on my bike. It's weird how that stuff sticks with you. Mom and Dad (Sandy and Pete) to many of you, are not on Facebook - but we send our LoVe!

facebook_2.jpg Time to make a salad and then it's time for Romper Room ...

I'm back after a little salat and some cottage cheese! I gave up eating cottage cheese while still living in Saint Paul as you could only get it in a plastic tub. I eat lot's of stuff from plastic tubs in Berlin - not sure why, that's another article!

While I was gone I also responded to my friend Tobias. We are going to see a movie on Wednesday called 'A Dangerous Method' by David Cronenberg. I also had to send him some music. Just one song - that's all you need: No Doubt, Hey You

facebook_6.jpg I remember watching Romper Room as a kid - "How old are you Chris?" They asked me at work! ha ha ha ... "Romper, bomper, stomper boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic Mirror, tell me today, have all my friends had fun at play?" I can see Terri, Karl, Audrey and Mae and Lena, Kelly, Nicole, Rachael, Jennifer and Andreas. I see Donal, Marina, Sabrina and Rick, Daniel, Johannes, Tony and Michelle ... and wait ... I see Darsi, Dawn, Winfried and Dee and Kim and Cheri, I see Daniel and Jennifer and Karl and Randy, Dana and Becki ...

After the ride tonight, I locked up the bike in the back of the apartment. It was cold - I feld bad leaving the old Cannondale out there all by himself. He's 20 years old - that's 86 in human years! Locked up the courtyard and then went around to the front of the building, opened the door and checked the mail. There in the box was a beatiful oversized black and white postcard of Paul Newman! The young Paul Newman in a suite and a tie, his hands folded with his thumb under his chin. A Birthday message from my sister Nancy, Mae, Clayton and Puckett! Love you guys!

Thanks again friends everywhere.

Kisses
Peace and Love,
Chris
